Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all doing well. It is no secret around here that I work out and that I live a healthy lifestyle. Today I wanted to share my favorite fitness items that also help me stay motivated. I was not able to find that exact jacket or those exact leggings, so I linked similar items. I got a S’well water bottle for Christmas and I love it. Mine has a matte finish too.

What are some of your favorite fitness items that help you stay motivated?

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great week so far. I recently tried this arm workout  and I thought that I would share it with you all today.  The first time that I did it I used a 5 pound dumbbell for this workout and did 4 sets of  20 reps. The second time I used a 7.5 pound dumbbell. It has quickly become one of my favorite workouts, so I’ve added it to my weekly rotation. Feel free to give it a try too and let me know what you think. 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you all have a wonderful day!! ❤

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great week so far. Today I thought that I would share two workouts that I have been doing a lot this summer. I love finding new workouts to try especially if they don’t require any equipment. These are also great to at home for when you can’t make it to the gym.

Tuesday is usually the day where I do my weight and strength training workouts, but it really depends on my work schedule. The rest of the week I do 30 minutes on the elliptical. I usually don’t work out on the weekends, but sometimes I do again, depending on my work schedule. When I do these workouts I do 3-4 sets of 30 reps. I also include some machines depending on if I’m working my lower body or upper body.

The via link in the pictures will take you straight to the website where I found them. I hope that you all enjoyed this post and that maybe you will give these workouts a try. 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you all have a wonderful day!!

How I Stay Motivated – Fitness Edition

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great week so far. I was inspired by Mia and her post on Monday about staying motivated when it comes to fitness. So today I thought that I would share some with you some tips on how I stay motivated to work out.

1. Downloading a new song.  New music always gets me motivated!! I love a good song when I’m doing my cardio.

2. Scheduling my work outs each week. I write down the days that I’m planning on going to the gym. Because my work schedule is different each week, I may not be able to go a few days in a row so I write down when I’m going to go. I also write down whether or not I’m doing cardio, or a strength training/weight workout.

3. Finding new exercises.  To avoid getting into an exercise, I look for new exercises to do each week. I follow Women’s Health, Health magazine, and Fitness magazine on Pinterest. I have found a lot of good exercises and tips through them and definitely recommend them.

4. Wearing a favorite outfit.  Whether it’s a new workout outfit, or something that I have had for a while, a favorite workout outfit is motivating for me. My favorites pieces are the Lululemon pants and top that Chris got me for Christmas.

5. Watching a morning show.  When I’m not listening to music, I watch a morning show. My favorite is LIVE with Kelly & Michael. They always have a fun guest on, and I like their personalities. I also consider Kelly Ripa to be my celebrity twin because we are both petite. 🙂

I work out 4 days a week and I cook healthy meals at home. I also hold myself accountable. If I miss a day because of work I make it up another day. While I’m by no means a fitness or nutrition expert, these are just things that have worked for me.

Exercise Review – Figure 8 Lunge

stronger-one-move_0_0

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a fitness post, because I was in an exercise rut. Every new exercise that I would try I  either didn’t like, or it caused unnecessary pain.  Until now. This week I tried this exercise that I found on the Women’s Health Magazine Pinterest board. Here is the link: http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/move-for-stronger-arms-and-butt.

I did three sets of 30 reps with a 5 pound dumbbell. This exercise works both your lower and upper body. So your arms, back, shoulders, butt and legs. Next time I’m going to increase the weight and do 4 sets of 40 reps, but I’m going to add this to my workout routine.

Feel free to add this to your workout routine and I would also love to hear about some of your favorite exercises.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!! 🙂

Row and Twist Exercise

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great week so far. Today I wanted to share an upper body exercise with you that I tried yesterday. Click on the picture to watch the video on Fitness Magazine’s website.

This exercise targets your abs, back, biceps, obliques. I used 5 pound dumbbells and did 4 sets of 15 reps. Thanks to my fall over the weekend my elbow is banged up and I wasn’t able to increase the weight. Next time I will though.

I will be adding this exercise to my upper body workout rotation and I hope that you will too.  🙂

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Exercise Review

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great week so far. Today I wanted to share with you a new exercise that I just tried. Every week I try to include either a new exercise, or I try new machine at the gym. I find that it challenges me more, and helps make going to the gym less boring. I found it on Fitness Magazine’s Pinterest page. The link to their website is below.

http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/express/20-minute/back-and-butt-workout/?crlt.pid=camp.SuXOIYIIIAaq#page=2

This exercise targets your shoulders, abs, back, and butt. I did 4 sets of 15 reps. I did this yesterday and today my shoulders, legs, and butt are sore. I like this exercise because it targets different areas, and it can be another option to work those areas instead of getting on a machine.  Or when you want to combine upper and lower body workouts. You can also do it at home if you can’t make it to the gym one day.

I will be adding this to my workout routine rotation and I hope that it inspires you to do the same thing!

Have a wonderful day! 🙂
